Pastoral Services Staff
Jim Palmer is Director of Pastoral Services at Baptist Hospital. An ordained Baptist minister, Jim holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Florida State University, a M.Div. degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a M.S. degree in Psychology and Counseling from Troy State University. Following two years as a CPE Resident at Baptist Hospital, he was the staff chaplain, working in Behavioral Medicine for several years and then as chaplain for two of our affiliate hospitals. Jim then served as the chaplain for our Open Heart and Cardiology program, as well as taking on more administrative functions. In January 2000, Jim moved into the position of Director.
Donald W. Winslett Ed.D. is Director of Clinical Pastoral Education. He is a graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. His Master of Divinity degree was earned at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and his Doctorate in Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Winslett was certified as an ACPE Supervisor (Acting Level) in 1981. He was certified as full Supervisor in 1984. Dr. Winslett has served as a Supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, since 1982. Dr. Winslett is also a state of Florida licensed psychologist and licensed marriage and family therapist.
Ruth Ward is the Office Coordinator for the Department of Pastoral Services. Ruth has been an employee of Baptist Hospital since 1991, working in the Corporate Administration office and with Properties Management. She came to Pastoral Services in 1998, and has become an invaluable member of our team. She is an active member at Charity Chapel. |
